Rosanna Davison suing Ryanair for allegedly defaming her on its website
Model Rosanna Davison has taken the stand in her High Court libel action against Ryanair. The former Miss World is looking for damages over a press release on the airline’s website that she claims says she’s a racist. Ryanair denies she’s been defamed. When Ryanair published its charity calendar with pictures of bikini clad cabin crew in November 2008, Rosanna Davison told the Irish Independent if she had organised it she would have made more of an effort to get Irish women involved. In response Ryanair issued a press release on their website saying her comments bordered on racism and demonstrated an elitist attitude against Ryanair’s international cabin crew. On the stand today Rosanna Davison has told the jury of her shock and anger on reading the airline’s statement saying ”I’m the last person I’d consider racist, I’ve worked with people all over the world’. She also branded Ryanair’s response to a letter from her solicitor as aggresssive, juvenile and downright rude. The letter said the airline would not succumb to unwarranted and unjust threats but that Ryanair recognises the right of the former Miss World to make silly comments (courtesy of

Do you believe Rosanna’s comment could be considered ‘racist’?
